AI continued to be the talk of Davos on Wednesday as our full set of experts and speakers dove into the specifics of AI and the variety of applications it has to offer.
What are the most promising applications for AI across industries? How is AI transforming the way we learn and work? And what does that mean for society as a whole? Should we channel AI innovation into desirable industries and applications and keep it away from others? Who decides — and based on what criteria?
Those were the big questions of the day.
After having breakfast around the topic of “AI is shaping the future of procurement”, we tackled the use of AI in Healthcare. Our panel included representatives from Bayer, M42 Health and Microsoft.
Representatives of multiple universities around the world gathered to talk about the place of AI in higher education.
The conversation continued with a discussion on “Unleashing the power of LLMs in the Enterprise.” This panel brought together AI researchers and corporate leaders who showcased how LLMs can transform the enterprise landscape and shape the future of business operations, featuring Brad Lightcap, the COO of OpenAI.
Over lunch, we assessed how to best leverage AI to bolster inclusivity and avoid increasing the gap between the internet-connected and disconnected regions of the world.
The afternoon sessions started strong with a panel discussion in which our experts explored how businesses can harness the vast potential of AI to drive business transformation and economic growth in a future that is growth-constrained and productivity-challenged. Speakers included Arvind Krishna, the CEO of IBM.
During the panel on AI and Connectivity, specialists discussed how The use of advanced AI models, including recommender systems and GenAI, marks new standards in operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The excitement of AI has led most companies to get on board, create new departments and teams dedicated to the technology. However, not all of them have yet had a tangible impact. In the session “Hype vs Impact - Implementing AI” we explored which conversations, questions and metrics boards need to push to ensure successful AI implementation ensuring impact, not hype.
How will AI shape the future of work in manufacturing? Will we finally realize the vision of the self-aware, lights-out factory? Those were some questions that our panel tackled during a discussion about AI and the Future Factory. Speakers included Gunter Beitinger, the Head of Factory Digitalization at SVP Siemens
Finally, we turned to the world of art and entertainment, spheres where we’ve already seen how AI can reshape media in transformational ways.
After an eventful day, guests and attendees got a chance to meet and share ideas and opinions during the “Intelligence is in the network” reception and then dinner.
